Pay television broadcast industry (Pay TV) is considered more potent than the telecommunications industry today. The chances are still very large, because of the 40 million households have television sets in Indonesia, only 2.5% who subscribe to Pay TV.
“The market is still very large. If you look at the current condition Pay TV is more promising than the telecommunications sector,” said Guntur Siboro, Director of Marketing and Sales Aora TV, at Pacific Place SCBD, Jakarta, Thursday (09/29/2011).
Compared to the mobile telecommunications has over 180 million customers, opportunities in the Pay TV is still wide open because it only has about one million more subscribers.
Currently, the largest Pay TV operator new just about 700-800 thousand by Indovision. Its closest competitor is Telkomvision with 200 thousand subscribers, and First Media and TV Aora each 100 thousand subscribers. “Pay TV market is more communal, since users are family,” said Thunder.
